Description
A comprehensive assortment of antique and vintage glass lighting elements, featuring notable examples of American and European glassmaking. The collection includes several pieces attributed to Fenton Art Glass, such as pink and white cased glass shades with ruffled rims in the Peach Crest style and an opalescent hobnail shade with a delicate pink rim. A highlight of the group is a pale green cased glass lamp font fitted with a brass collar, decorated with a hand-painted character illustration. Further items comprise a mottled amber and yellow art glass shade in the Art Nouveau taste, a vibrant orange ribbed glass shade, and various white milk glass globes featuring hand-painted or transfer-printed floral motifs. The group showcases a variety of techniques including mould-blown, cased, and opalescent glass. Various sizes, largest approximately 18cm in diameter.
Condition report:
The collection is in overall fair to good condition. There is visible surface dust and minor wear consistent with age and use. Some pieces exhibit minor fleabites and small chips to the fitter rims. The hand-painted decorations show light surface abrasions. The brass collar on the lamp font displays some oxidation.
