A Varied Collection of Vintage Ceramic Porcelain and Art Glass Decorative Objects and Figurines
Description
An eclectic assembly of decorative items primarily dating from the mid-20th century. The collection features several polychrome porcelain figurines including a bird perched on a branch and various human figures in the Capodimonte style. Ceramic highlights comprise a brown-glazed bear a miniature teapot with floral transfer-printed decoration and a blue-and-white patterned jug. Glassware is represented by a small turquoise-coloured blown glass bottle and an amber-to-yellow cased glass trumpet vase. Also included is a small canine figure mounted on a polished alabaster base and a large pink and blue butterfly ornament. The lot features a significant porcelain fragment with a scalloped edge and intricate floral motifs reminiscent of Dresden manufacture. Various techniques are evident including hand-painting transfer-printing and glass blowing. Items range in size from approximately 3 cm to 18 cm in height.
Condition report:
The collection is in mixed condition. One large porcelain piece is significantly damaged or exists as a fragment. Several figurines exhibit minor chips to delicate extremities such as flower petals and wing tips. There is visible rubbing to the transfer-printed designs and gilt accents on the ceramic pieces. General surface wear and dust consistent with age.
