Yellow-metal Art Deco Style Cherry Amber Bead Necklace and Loose Beads
Description
A collection of Art Deco style jewellery featuring a strung necklace and a selection of loose beads. The components appear to be cherry amber often referred to as Bakelite or Faturan, displaying a deep reddish-brown colour and semi-translucent clarity. The beads are shaped into polished, graduated barrel and oval forms. The necklace is fitted with a small yellow-metal clasp; the metal is unmarked and appears to be a gold-toned base metal. The lot includes several loose beads of a larger scale. No hallmarks, purity stamps, or maker’s marks are visible. Weight and dimensions are not recorded.
Condition report:
The collection is in good overall condition. There is light surface wear and minor abrasions consistent with the age of the material. Several beads are currently unstrung. The clasp is functional.
