Lot 294:
German Style Bisque and Porcelain Figurines, Including Piano Baby and Pig
Description
A miscellaneous lot of seven porcelain and ceramic figurines, largely in the style of early 20th-century German decorative collectibles. The lot features a large naturalistic pig figurine with a matte finish and a classic seated ‘Piano Baby’ infant in a white bonnet and lace-trimmed gown. Also included is a small infant figure swaddled in a textured pinkish-tan shawl, and a child figure wearing a wide-brimmed white sun hat with a prominent blue ribbon. The collection is completed by three novelty egg timers, each featuring a small painted figure holding a glass sand vial, including a boy in blue shorts and two smaller brightly coloured figures. Although no factory marks or model numbers are discernible, the bisque items are characteristic of Thuringian production such as Gebruder Heubach. Various heights, largest approximately 12 cm.
Condition report:
The items are in good overall condition with minor surface wear and light soiling consistent with age and handling. There are no obvious chips, cracks, or professional restorations visible. The glass vials on the egg timers remain intact.
