Description
A small, circular earthenware dish produced by Moorcroft Pottery, Burslem, England. This piece features a hand-painted and tubelined floral motif, identified as the Anemone pattern, rendered in shades of purple, yellow, and light green. The decoration is set against a vibrant green interior ground, while the exterior is finished in a contrasting deep teal or blue-green glaze. The dish retains an original oval gold-toned manufacturer’s sticker on the interior reading MOORCROFT ENGLAND. The underside bears a faint, illegible impressed mark and two small hand-painted green dots, characteristic of the mid-20th century Walter Moorcroft era. Diameter: approximately 11.5 cm (4.5 inches).
Condition report:
The item is in overall good condition. Fine age-related crazing is visible in the glaze, primarily on the base and interior. No chips, cracks, or visible repairs are present.
