Description

A vintage Wade Heath moulded ceramic pitcher from the celebrated Woodland series, featuring high-relief decoration of a squirrel perched upon a gnarled tree trunk. The vessel is designed with a handle modelled as a rustic branch, further embellished with an arrangement of green oak leaves and brown acorns near the rim. The piece is finished in a naturalistic colour palette of brown, green, and cream glazes. The base bears the green printed WADE ENGLAND maker mark, alongside an impressed model number 154 and an underglaze hand-painted y mark. This piece exemplifies the Art Deco period interest in stylised natural forms and relief-moulded earthenware. Height: approximately 8 inches (20 cm).

Condition report:

The pitcher is in good overall condition consistent with age. Fine age-related crazing is visible across the glazed surface, most notably on the underside of the base. There is minor surface staining present on the unglazed foot rim. No chips, cracks, or professional restorations are evident.
