Unmarked, Collection of 13 Miniature Petit Point and Needlework Pictures
Description
A collection of thirteen vintage framed miniature decorative items, primarily featuring fine-gauge needlework. The majority of the pieces are petite point or fine-stitch embroideries. Ten pieces depict various floral arrangements, pastoral cottage landscapes, and a single female figure in an outdoor setting. One circular piece features a religious scene depicting Our Lady of Lourdes, labelled LOURDES, under convex glass. Two additional framed pieces show scenic landscapes, one of which appears to be a print or painting on paper under glass. The frames are constructed from gold-toned metal, brass, or gilt wood, with styles ranging from simple bands to ornate filigree borders. No factory marks or signatures are visible on the front. Height 1.5 to 5 inches.
Condition report:
The collection is in generally good vintage condition. The needlework remains well-preserved with vibrant colours and no apparent fraying or loss. The metal and wood frames show minor surface wear, tarnishing, and patina consistent with age and use. No significant chips or cracks are noted in the glass-covered pieces. One rectangular frame has a slightly loose backing.
