A Collection of Noritake Progression Blue Moon and Sunburst Pattern Ceramic Tableware Category: Ceramics
Description
A comprehensive collection of vintage Japanese ceramic tableware by Noritake, primarily featuring the Blue Moon pattern (9022) from the Progression line, circa 1970s. The Progression series was noted for its durable, heat-resistant stoneware body designed for oven-to-table use. The Blue Moon pieces are decorated with a delicate blue floral and foliate border on a white ground and include a lidded teapot, a lidded sugar bowl, two creamers, and an assortment of plates and saucers, some housed in a red-lined presentation box. Also included is a secondary group of stoneware featuring a central stylised sunburst or mandala motif in orange, brown, and green tones with a green rim line, comprising plates and bowls. This collection exemplifies the Mid-Century Modern aesthetic of the late 20th century. Dimensions unrecorded.
Condition report:
The collection appears to be in good vintage condition. No chips, cracks, or significant surface wear are visible upon initial inspection. The presentation box shows some age-related wear.
