Description

A graduated nest of three solid oak tables in the Jacobean revival style, dating to circa 1920. Each table features a rectangular top with a thumb-moulded edge, finished in a medium-dark stain that highlights the natural grain of the timber. The tops are supported by elegantly ring-turned baluster legs, which are joined by low-set rectangular stretchers using traditional mortise and tenon construction. This set reflects the enduring popularity of 17th-century English design during the early 20th century, offering a versatile and space-saving solution for a traditional interior. The construction is solid oak throughout with no visible veneers. No maker’s marks or labels are present. Dimensions (Largest Table): 48 cm x 52 cm x 36 cm.

Condition report:

The set is in fair structural condition, showing signs of use consistent with age. There is visible surface wear across all three tables, including scratches, scuffs, and notable areas of finish loss and marking to the tops. The joinery remains stable, though the finish would benefit from a sympathetic wax or polish to restore the colour and lustre. No evidence of woodworm or major structural repairs is visible.
