A pair of decorative domestic storage items, likely of English manufacture and unmarked. The first is a coal or log box constructed of brass-toned sheet metal over a wooden frame, featuring a slanted lid and a repoussé relief scene on the front depicting a group of figures in a tavern-style setting. The second is a rectangular wooden storage bin or magazine rack with a hinged front panel held by interior metal chains, featuring a carved relief landscape scene with trees and a cottage.
