A Mid-20th Century Satsuma Style Ceramic Table Lamp with Gilded Floral Decoration
Description
A large table lamp featuring a ceramic vase-style body decorated in the Oriental Satsuma manner. The porcelain body is embellished with intricate floral and foliate motifs, finished with gilded accents over a cream-coloured ground. The ceramic element is mounted upon a turned dark wood circular base and is fitted with a brass-finished socket and harp assembly. The lamp is accompanied by a large, detached scalloped fabric shade in a neutral cream tone. An inventory label numbered 3887 is present on the side of the ceramic base. The piece includes a coordinated electrical cord and a three-prong plug. Dimensions: Height 72 cm, Shade Diameter 48 cm.
