Mid-20th Century Colonial Revival Pine Gateleg Drop-Leaf Table in the manner of Cushman COFFEE TABLE SIZE
Description
A mid-20th century Colonial Revival gateleg drop-leaf table, constructed from solid pine. The piece features a circular three-part top with two hinged leaves that are supported by a gateleg mechanism. The understructure is composed of sturdy turned baluster-form legs connected by square-section stretchers, reflecting a utilitarian farmhouse aesthetic. The wood is finished in a warm honey-toned stain that highlights the natural knots and prominent grain characteristic of pine. This style of furniture was widely produced by American manufacturers such as the H.T. Cushman Manufacturing Company and Ethan Allen during the mid-1900s as part of the Early American revival movement. Dimensions: H 72 cm x W 92 cm x D 92 cm.
Condition report:
The structural integrity is sound with the hinges and gatelegs in working order. The finish exhibits significant signs of age and use, including visible surface scratches, scuffing to the tabletop edges, and various small indentations. There is a small white lot tag adhered to the edge. No major structural failures or previous restorations are evident.
