Hardwood Flat-Profile Walking Stick, Vintage
Description
This item is a single-piece carved hardwood walking stick, notable for its unusual flat profile. The handle is integral to the shaft, featuring a smooth, rounded bulbous knob or pistol-grip style head. Carved from a single piece of hardwood, likely mahogany or a similar timber with a warm, reddish-brown stain and polished finish, the shaft has a distinctive flat, paddle-like form rather than a traditional cylindrical shape. It is widest near the handle and tapers gradually in width towards the tip. There are no hidden system features such as a sword or flask; it is of solid, one-piece construction. No maker’s marks or hallmarks are visible. A small white inventory sticker is present on the upper shaft. Length: 32 inches (81 cm).
Condition report:
The item is in good vintage condition. The handle and shaft exhibit expected signs of age and use, including scattered surface scratches, minor scuffs, and small areas of finish wear, particularly along the edges and at the tip. There are no apparent cracks or structural repairs.
