Description
A mid-20th-century oval earthenware dish by Moorcroft Pottery, featuring the Columbine (Aquilegia) pattern designed by Walter Moorcroft. The piece is decorated using the traditional tube-lining technique, depicting three floral blooms in vibrant shades of deep red, purple, and yellow with green foliage, all set against a pale celadon-blue ground. The reverse is finished with a distinctive cobalt blue washed rim. The base bears the impressed factory marks MOORCROFT and MADE IN ENGLAND, accompanied by a hand-painted green designer’s cipher. Length: approximately 23 cm.
