Description
English School, 19th Century, waxed pine on solid timber, a small Victorian-style chest of drawers. The piece features a classic two-over-two configuration, consisting of two small drawers at the top over two full-width drawers, all fitted with turned wooden knobs. The design includes a rectangular overhanging top and a decorative shaped plinth base with a wavy apron. The drawer fronts are further detailed with simple moulded edges. Victorian style, unsigned, no frame, provenance unknown. 82 x 88 cm
Condition report:
No craquelure, paint loss, or inpainting is present as the item is finished wood. Surface dirt is minimal and the waxed finish is well-maintained. The solid timber structure is in good condition with no signs of lining or repairs.
