Description
After Pablo Picasso (Spanish, 1881-1973), a late 20th-century decorative print on paper after the iconic 1903 masterpiece. The work faithfully reproduces the sombre, monochromatic aesthetic characteristic of the artist’s Blue Period, depicting a gaunt, elderly man with a white beard hunched over an acoustic guitar. The palette is dominated by varied shades of blue and cool greys, with the guitar provided in contrasting warm ochre tones. Unsigned. Housed in a contemporary, minimalist black frame under glazing. 61 x 91.5 cm.
Condition report:
The print appears to be in good condition with no visible signs of foxing, fading, or moisture damage. The surface exhibits significant glare due to the glazing. The contemporary frame is stable with minor scuffing to the edges. Not examined out of frame.
