Description
A late 19th-century French Renaissance Revival side chair, also known as Hunt style, featuring a dark-stained wood frame with elaborate bobbin-turned uprights, legs, and H-stretcher. The tall back is designed with a central upholstered panel and an intricate open-work carved crest rail displaying scrolling foliate ornamentation and turned finials. The square seat and back panel are covered in a geometric patterned textile with red, green, and cream motifs.
Condition report:
The item is in fair to good condition. There is significant wear and loss to the upholstery fabric along the front edge of the seat cushion, exposing the underlying material. The wooden frame exhibits minor surface wear and abrasions consistent with age.
