Lot 83:
A Trio of Bisque Porcelain Piano Babies and Figurines
Description
A trio of bisque porcelain figurines, including two piano babies and a reclining nude female. These pieces are crafted from unglazed porcelain with a matte finish and feature hand-painted facial details and hair in muted, naturalistic tones. The figures are hollow-cast, showing typical manufacturing vent holes on the bases or backs. One infant figure is modeled in a seated position with hands near the face, while the second infant is depicted in a crawling pose. The third figure is a reclining nude female with hand-painted blonde hair. The underside of the crawling infant is stamped with the word FOREIGN in black ink, a mark used for items imported to the United Kingdom during the early to mid-20th century. Another base displays faint handwritten numeric notations.
