Antique Welsbach Kern Porcelain Gas Mantle Burner
Description
An antique gas mantle burner produced by Welsbach Kern, dating to the early 20th century. The piece is constructed with a glazed ceramic body and cast metal internal components. The front panel features a celadon-green glaze with ornate Rococo-style scrollwork and an embossed central cartouche bearing the name KERN. The interior is finished in a white glaze and houses five metal burner jets. The structure rests on an integral fluted ceramic base with four feet. A metal gas inlet valve with a cross-handle is mounted to the side.
