Lot 83:
Postmodern Neoclassical Revival Faux Stone Architectural Wall Mirror
Description
A single wall mirror executed in a Postmodern Neoclassical Revival style, featuring an aedicula-like architectural form. The frame is constructed from a composite material, likely plaster or faux stone, molded and textured to simulate rough-hewn limestone or rusticated ashlar blockwork. The central rectangular mirror plate is flanked by two integrated columns with fluted shafts and decorative capitals. The columns exhibit a contrasting painted finish, likely intended to mimic patinated bronze or verdigris. The structure includes a massive, blocky base and a textured lintel/entablature above the glass. This style is often associated with faux Mactan stone designs of the late 20th century. No maker’s marks or legible inscriptions are visible.
