Late Victorian or Edwardian Revival Breakfront Curio Cabinet with Floral Marquetry
Description
A single, three-part breakfront display cabinet executed in dark-stained wood, characteristic of Late Victorian or Edwardian revival styles. The structure comprises two tall flanking glazed cabinets connected by a lower central unit. The flanking cabinets feature glass doors overlaid with decorative applied wood molding forming scroll and oval motifs. The interiors of the flanking units are lined with a light-colored, patterned textile or fabric. The central section is curved and features a lower glazed door and an adjacent curved panel decorated with detailed floral marquetry or inlay in contrasting lighter woods. The cabinet stands on stylized, carved feet and includes a shaped lower stretcher shelf connecting the supports.
