A large, two-part cabinet, attributed as a French Louis XVI Style Mahogany Bookcase Cabinet from the 19th Century. The piece exhibits Neoclassical stylistic elements, constructed primarily of dark mahogany hardwood. It features contrasting lighter wood stringing and inlays, notably with oval designs on the lower section’s solid doors. The upper section comprises two glazed doors, enclosing interior shelves, surmounted by a classical cornice. The lower section consists of two solid paneled doors, adorned with central oval inlays and banded details. Decorative brass escutcheons are visible on both sets of doors, each with an attached fabric tassel. No discernible text or markings are present.
