A Group of Predominantly Sterling Silver and Other Metalware, Including a Painted Icon Egg
Description
This lot comprises a group of predominantly sterling silver and other metalware. The collection includes a large lacquered or painted egg, possibly an Easter egg, adorned with an icon-style religious scene and topped with a small cross finial, presented on a pierced silver-colored stand. Accompanying this are various small silver-colored items including a small wooden pedestal supporting a triangular dish, a miniature bucket with a handle, several small cups or goblets, a lidded sugar or condiment bowl, a shaker with a perforated lid, an ornate embossed metal egg, and a pierced tea strainer. Further included are two pierced metal bottle coasters, one containing a circular turned wooden insert, and a butter knife with a cream-colored handle, likely bone or ivory, and a metal blade faintly marked “GOODall”.
