A Collection of Five Antique and Vintage Decorative Wooden Boxes
Description
A collection of five decorative wooden boxes of varying sizes, shapes, and ornamentation. The largest, a long rectangular box, is crafted from light-toned wood, possibly a burl or figured veneer, and features delicate inlaid floral or foliate motifs on its lid. To its left, a casket-style box made of dark wood is richly adorned with extensive mother-of-pearl or bone inlay forming intricate patterns across its curved lid and sides, fitted with a small handle and a metal clasp. Next to this, a smaller dark wooden casket-style box exhibits a hand-painted floral design, featuring yellow and red roses, on its curved lid with a brass-toned metal clasp. In the foreground, a medium-sized rectangular wooden box displays a raised brass-toned metal appliqué depicting a branch with foliage on its lid, surrounded by carved borders.
