A Collection of Eight Vintage Signed Cricket Bats
Description
This lot comprises eight vintage cricket bats, primarily constructed of light-colored wood, likely willow, with black rubber or synthetic grips on their handles. Visible brand names include “Slazenger” (featuring “V 500” and “The Magnum” models), “Gradidge” (“Imperial Driver SUPER”), “Gray-Nicolls” (“Crusader”), and a bat adorned with a Kookaburra-like bird emblem. Several bats display tour or team inscriptions such as “Australian Touring Team – 1961”, “S.C.C. SOUTH AFRICA 1954-57”, “AUSTRALIA 1972”, and partially visible “ENGLAND 1933” and “2002”. All bats are extensively covered in numerous handwritten signatures, presumably from cricketers.
