A Collection of Glass Decanters, including Silver-Topped Examples, with Silver-Plated Candelabras and Decorative Wares
Description
A diverse collection comprising numerous clear glass decanters and bottles, some plain and others featuring cut glass patterns. These are fitted with a variety of stoppers, including faceted glass, cork, and a modern metal and rubber wine stopper. Several decanters are noted to have silver-colored collars or tops. Accompanying these is a pair of three-arm, silver-colored candelabras, each with ornate bases adorned with grape or foliate motifs. The lot also includes a small iridescent glass vase with hand-painted floral designs, two small cut glass trinket dishes, one shaped like a shell, and a large cream-colored ceramic or earthenware plate with a neoclassical transfer print featuring festoons and medallion portraits. Completing the collection are two framed decorative plaques, one depicting “Burns Cottage, Alloway,” and the other a street scene.
