A Diverse Collection of Decorative and Functional Items, 20th Century
Description
A diverse collection of approximately 30-35 small decorative and functional items, primarily crafted from ceramic, porcelain, glass, and various metals (brass-tone, darker base metals), with some pieces appearing to be plastic or early synthetic material. Prominent items include a cream-colored rotating carousel with applied floral decals, numerous hand-painted ceramic figurines depicting children, a laughing Buddha, and various animals (bear, duck, fawn, pig, frog). The collection also features two glass cloches containing miniature foliage, a multi-colored glass paperweight, miniature ceramic sugar and shaker sets with gold accents, decorative egg cups, several trinket boxes, and small ceramic and metal dishes and cups. One egg-shaped shaker clearly bears the inscription “Salt and Pepper.” The styles range from early to mid-20th century decorative arts to more contemporary pieces.
