A Neo-Baroque Style Brass Mantel Clock with Mounted Knight Finial
Description
This ornate mantel or table clock is crafted from a golden-toned metal, likely brass. It is executed in a historical revival style, possibly Neo-Baroque or Rococo Revival. The clock is surmounted by a figural group depicting a mounted knight, possibly jousting, holding a spear. The circular clock dial features a light-colored face with black Roman numerals and a central decorative floral/scroll motif; no maker’s mark is visible on the dial. The elaborate case includes extensive scrolled detailing, with what appear to be winged creatures flanking the central body, and a prominent classical male face below the dial. A circular glass pendulum disc is visible at the bottom. A small white label bearing the number “8487” is affixed to the textured panel beneath the classical face.
