Vintage Turkish Oushak Prayer Rug Wall Hanging
Description
A Vintage Turkish Oushak Prayer Rug, presented as a wall hanging. This rectangular woven textile features a central field of deep reddish-brown, decorated with a symmetrical, stylized flowering plant motif in shades of tan, pale green, and light reddish-pink, set within a light-bordered, arch-like cartouche. The central design is framed by a border of olive green with repeating smaller floral patterns in tan and light pink. The textile is suspended from a white rod via three fabric loops. A faint, illegible marking, possibly ‘Jas’ or ‘Jac,’ is visible on the white hanging rod. The material appears to be woven fabric, possibly cotton or a synthetic blend, with a slightly textured surface.
