Description
A vintage Japanese Sosaku Kokeshi doll by Sekiguchi Sansaku. This turned wooden figure features a cylindrical body and a broad, rounded black headpiece. The natural-toned face is adorned with minimalist painted closed eyes and a small red mouth. The black body is decorated with carved or incised natural wood-toned patterns resembling stylized snowflakes or chrysanthemums, alongside a reddish-brown sash (obi-like) featuring a distinct ‘X’ motif. Constructed from wood with painted decoration. No discernible text or maker’s marks are visible.
