A Collection of Wade Pottery Animal Figurines and Decorative Dishes
Description
A collection of Wade pottery, comprising approximately fourteen glazed ceramic and porcelain decorative items. The group predominantly features animal figurines housed in miniature dishes or bowls. Key pieces include a large brown bowl with a molded turtle, identified in market intelligence as a tortoise ashtray; a green plate with an embossed animal, possibly a rabbit; two olive green floral-patterned dishes, consistent with Wade’s ‘Maple leaf dishes’; an oval tan dish with a small bird figurine; and a standing figurine of a character with an expressive face wearing a suit, consistent with a pipe rest. Several small dishes feature miniature figurines of puppies, a cat-like creature, and a seal, presented in various glazes including brown, blue, and pink. Two cardboard boxes, visible as risers, are marked “PUPPY DISH No 3” and “GENUINE WADE PORCELAIN,” confirming the maker and material for some items, and noting “Made in England.” The collection is presented on a red plastic serving tray, which is not included in the lot.
