Art Deco Tabletop Musical Cigarette Dispenser with Ashtrays, Calendar, and Reclining Lion
Description
This Art Deco musical cigarette dispenser features a light-toned wooden box construction with brass or bronze accents. The lid is adorned with a reclining lion figure, cast in brass or bronze, positioned in front of two horizontal cylindrical brass components with red caps, which likely form a calendar mechanism. The front of the box features a circular brass or bronze medallion with a raised relief scene, possibly a landscape. The central top section opens to reveal a serrated cigarette dispensing mechanism. Two hinged side flaps open to expose circular brass or bronze ashtray inserts. A clear glass rod is present, resting on one side. Visible markings on one of the cylindrical components include the word “DEPOSE,” indicating a registered design.
