A Group of Assorted Decorative Objects to include a Nautical-Style Ship's Steering Wheel
Description
A group of assorted decorative objects and household items comprising a wooden and brass nautical-style ship’s steering wheel, a woven wicker basket, and a carved wooden box. The ship’s steering wheel is constructed with six turned wooden spokes radiating from a central domed brass hub to a circular wooden rim, which features a brass inlay strip secured with small pins. The rectangular wicker basket is made of woven cane and includes a hinged lid. The rectangular wooden box features deep relief foliate and floral carving to the top of the lid. A small white rectangular adhesive label is attached to the top of the carved box bearing the handwritten characters 12707 above the letter D. Adjoining this is a larger printed white adhesive label which reads SHELBYS AUCTIONEERS followed by LOT 348 and 01132502628. Portions of a glass vessel and a ceramic dish are visible at the edge of the group.
