Two Neoclassical Style Alabaster Decorative Objects Including A Relief Plaque By Sergio Benvenuti
Description
This lot comprises two neoclassical style decorative items, consisting of a figural sculpture and a boxed relief plaque. The circular relief plaque depicts a reclining nude female figure in an ivory-toned material. It is accompanied by an original Italian certificate of authenticity titled dichiarazione which identifies the piece as number AA 3836 from a limited edition in alabastro avorio (ivory alabaster). The certificate states the work is taken from an original design by the sculptor Sergio Benvenuti for the third issue of the collection Le Muse di Benvenuti, produced by Studio Dante di Volteradici. The plaque is presented in a black and gold retail box with internal foam packaging, featuring printed text on the exterior reading OGGETTO D’ARTE and FRAGILE AL TRASPORTO. A white rectangular adhesive label is affixed to the front of the plaque reading SHELBYS AUCTIONEERS, LOT 347, 0112202025. The second item is a large white figural sculpture group depicting three nude female figures in an intertwined embrace, standing upon a tiered oval base. The sculpture is rendered in a matte white material consistent with alabaster or a fine composite.
