AnPatterned Milk Glass and Brass-Toned Metal Table Lamp
Description
A traditional hurricane oil lamp. The assembly comprises a clear glass chimney and an opaque white milk glass shade featuring a ruffled upper rim and embossed scrollwork decoration. Centred on the shade is an oval medallion containing a floral motif in shades of yellow, orange, and purple, which appears to be a transfer decal. The shade rests upon a brass-toned metal burner-style collar, supported by a fluted central column and a stepped circular base. Affixed to the metal collar is a small white adhesive label with the handwritten text 12847 D. in black ink. Below this, on the metal base, is a rectangular white adhesive auction label reading SHELBY’S AUCTIONEERS 331 01/10/2022. No manufacturer marks, signatures, or country-of-origin stamps are visible on the exterior of the glass or metal components.
