A French 1839 Silver 5 Francs Coin-Form Multi-Tool
Description
A vintage multi-tool housed within the casing of a French silver 5 Francs coin dated 1839. The exterior of the tool is formed by the two halves of the coin, with one side featuring a wreath of oak and laurel leaves surrounding the struck characters 1839, 5, and FRANCS. The tool contains three fold-out steel implements: a small pen blade, a curved nail file, and a pair of spring-loaded scissors. The internal housing and spring mechanism are visible when the tools are extended. A white adhesive label is attached near the item reading SHELBYS AUCTIONEERS LOT 241 01132502626, and a second smaller white adhesive label is handwritten with the number 12849. No manufacturer or maker name is legible on the implements or the coin casing.
