A Collection of Gilt-Decorated White Porcelain Giftware and Anniversary Commemoratives with Courting Couple Vignettes
Description
A collection of assorted decorative porcelain and giftware, predominantly finished with a white glaze and featuring extensive gilt scrollwork, borders, and accents. The pieces are decorated with transfer-printed vignettes of courting couples in romanticised pastoral settings. The assortment comprises various forms, including large display chargers, multiple vases of differing shapes such as bud vases and twin-handled vessels, pitchers, creamers, a footed ceramic shoe, and footed trinket boxes. A miniature tea service is present, resting on its own matching tray. Several items are specifically themed for a fiftieth wedding anniversary, including large plates featuring the gold script 50th and another plate bearing the gold script Happy Anniversary. A white rectangular adhesive label is attached to the lid of a rectangular trinket box, printed with the numbers 12849 and 227. While various circular and crest-like marks are visible on the undersides of several items, such as the small dishes and the miniature teapot, the characters within these marks are not legible and do not spell a maker name.
