Description
A collection of worldwide postage stamps housed in multiple vintage graph-lined albums published by Errington and Martin, South Hackney, London. The collection includes dedicated sections for the UK, India, and Australia. The UK section features an 1864 1d Penny Red (SG 43), various George V and George VI definitives including the 1935 Silver Jubilee set and the George VI 2/6 high-value definitive. The India section contains British colonial issues through early independence, including portraits of Queen Victoria, Edward VII, George V, and George VI, with denominations up to a 25 Rupee high-value (SG 264) and several examples bearing Service overprints. The Australia page features a block of six 2/6 Aboriginal elder stamps (SG 253) with Alice Springs circular date stamp cancellations, alongside commemoratives for the 1956 Melbourne Olympics and the 1954 Royal Visit. The Hungary section comprises various issues with detailed handwritten philatelic notations regarding perforation gauges. Also included is a 1970 Christmas First Day Cover from the Leeds Coin Centre Ltd featuring a Giovanni Bellini design. The stamps are primarily used and mounted with hinges on pages containing technical notations and country headings.
