A landscape work by Herbert John Finn (1861-1942) depicting a haystack or thatched shelter in an expansive field near Piddinghoe, East Sussex. The piece is executed in watercolour and bodycolour on paper. The work is inscribed on the mount below the image: THE SHELTER, / IN PIDDINGHOE. / H. J. FINN. A white auction label for Mallams, Lot 133, is affixed to the left side of the frame. The artwork is housed in a broad, polished wooden frame with a gilded inner slip.
