Description

A late 19th-century German Vienna-style wall-hanging regulator clock housed in a dark walnut-stained wooden case. The case features a glazed front door and glazed side panels, flanked by decorative rope-twist pilasters. The architectural top is surmounted by a carved and gilded eagle cresting, positioned between two turned finials. The lower section of the case terminates in a carved pendant base with three matching turned finials. The circular cream-coloured dial features black Roman numeral hour markers, ornate pierced black metal hands, and a subsidiary seconds dial located below the XII position. Two winding apertures indicate a twin-train movement designed for both timekeeping and striking. The clock is powered by a mechanical pendulum-driven movement, featuring a wooden rod and a large brass pendulum bob embossed with foliate and scrollwork decoration. The item currently bears a white auction lot tag numbered 120 and a small white sticker marked £125.
Dimensions: 90cm – 120cm height.
