Lot 119:
An 18th or 19th Century Oak Longcase Clock with Square Brass Dial
Description
A longcase clock featuring a dark-stained wood case, likely oak. The trunk door is constructed with a central octagonal panel featuring decorative chevron-patterned veneer within a beaded border. The hood is flanked by turned pillars. The square brass dial is fitted with a silvered chapter ring displaying black Roman numerals and two decoratively pierced hands. The dial corners are adorned with cast brass scroll-and-cherub spandrels. The movement includes two winding holes, suggesting an eight-day mechanism. There is an illegible maker signature located on the dial face below the centre. White auction labels numbered 119 and 12706 are present on the dial glass.
