Gothic Revival Style Iron Fire Basket with Integrated Fire Dogs
Description
A black finished iron fire basket of integrated design, featuring a central grate with built-in fire dogs. The construction incorporates both cast and fabricated iron components. The two front fire dog supports are embellished with decorative cast fleur-de-lis finials above scrolled feet. The basket itself is formed from a rectangular cage of horizontal and vertical bars, designed to hold fuel within a domestic hearth. No maker’s marks or signatures were observed during inspection.
