George III Flame Mahogany Chest-on-Chest
Description
A George III mahogany chest-on-chest, also known as a tallboy, dating from the late 18th century. The piece is constructed in two sections. The upper section comprises two short drawers over three long graduated drawers, flanked by reeded canted corners. The lower section contains three further long graduated drawers. All drawer fronts feature flame mahogany veneers with cock-beaded edges. The drawers are fitted with circular brass backplates, ring pull handles, and inset brass keyhole escutcheons. The carcass is raised on shaped bracket feet. A small, illegible white label is present on the lower right drawer front.
