An Assortment of Five Cased Sets of Vintage Silver-Plated and Composition-Handled Flatware
Description
A collection of five assorted cased sets of vintage flatware, primarily of British manufacture. The first set is a fish service for six, comprising six knives and six forks, featuring silver-plated blades and tines with bright-cut foliate and scroll engraving, fitted with mother-of-pearl handles and decorative silver-plated ferrules. This set is housed in a fitted oak canteen with a purple velvet-lined interior. The second set consists of six tea or fruit knives with silver-plated blades and green composition handles, presented in a black leatherette case with white silk and blue velvet lining. The third set is a silver-plated dessert service for six, comprising six knives and six forks, with handles decorated in a scrolled and shell pattern in the King’s pattern style, housed in a red textured paper case with a red velvet lining. The fourth set is a fish service for six, comprising six knives and six forks, featuring silver-plated blades and tines with engraved scrollwork and pierced details, fitted with cream-coloured composition handles and housed in a dark blue leatherette case with blue velvet and white silk lining. The final set comprises six tea knives with cream-coloured composition handles and stainless steel or silver-plated blades, housed in a grey card presentation box with a green lining. Indistinct marks are present on the blades and tines of several sets but are not clearly legible.
