A Collection of Six Price Kensington Ye Olde Cottage Ware Tableware Pieces
Description
A collection of six pieces of Price Brothers (Kensington) Ltd earthenware in the Ye Olde Cottage pattern. The set includes teapots of differing sizes with branch-effect handles and spouts, a rectangular lidded biscuit barrel with a swivel-action woven cane handle, rectangular lidded boxes of graduating sizes, and a circular lidded preserve pot. Each piece is constructed from glazed earthenware and decorated with a hand-painted underglaze palette of browns, greens, and reds. The design features textured thatched roofs, timber-framed walls, small paned windows, and floral accents around the bases and doorways. The bases are marked with an incised Made in England and a green printed circular mark for Price Kensington Made in England, identifying the manufacturer as Price Brothers (Kensington) Ltd of Hanley, Staffordshire.
