Large Japanese Arita Porcelain Imari Style Charger
Description
A large Japanese porcelain charger produced in Arita, decorated in the traditional Imari palette of underglaze blue, overglaze iron-red, and gilt highlights. The composition features a central circular medallion containing floral motifs, surrounded by six radiating panels. Three panels depict mountainous landscapes with pine trees and architectural structures, alternating with three panels of stylised floral blooms set against a red scrollwork ground. The reverse is decorated with underglaze blue and overglaze red foliate sprays. The base features three prominent kiln spur marks and a hand-painted mark in red overglaze.
Mark: 有田焼 (Arita-yaki)
