A Set of Four Royal Crown Derby Traditional Imari 2451 Pattern Coffee Cups and Saucers
Description
This set of four demitasse coffee cups and four matching saucers is manufactured by Royal Crown Derby in the Traditional Imari 2451 pattern. Each piece is crafted from fine bone china and decorated with the characteristic Imari palette, featuring underglaze cobalt blue and overglaze iron red, complemented by extensive hand-applied gilding. The design incorporates stylised floral sprays and geometric panels. The cups feature a slightly waisted body and a ring-shaped handle, while the saucers are designed with deep wells. The base of each item displays a printed factory mark in red, consisting of a crown above an interlocking D monogram, surrounded by the words Royal Crown Derby and Made in England. The pattern number 2451 is hand-painted in red on the underside of each piece.
