A Pair of Victorian Staffordshire Porcelain Commemorative Christening Mugs
Description
A pair of Victorian porcelain commemorative mugs, attributed to Staffordshire. Each vessel features a cylindrical body, a single loop handle, and a stepped, flared foot. The first mug is decorated with a hand-painted floral spray including a pink rose and blue blossoms, finished with gilt lining to the rim and base. It bears the gilt script inscription Mackenzie Cheadle 1862. The second mug is decorated with a hand-painted landscape scene showing trees and a structure, also with gilt lining. It bears the gilt script inscription Fielden Aug 25th 1871. No maker marks are visible on the underside of either piece.
