Two Victorian Hand-Painted English Porcelain Presentation Mugs Dated 1850 and 1877
Description
Two Victorian porcelain presentation mugs of cylindrical form with flared bases. The first mug, dated 1850, features a gilded rim and foot, decorated with hand-painted polychrome floral sprays and sepia-toned cursive script reading George Hall 1850. The second mug, dated 1877, is decorated with a large central polychrome floral bouquet and black cursive script reading Kate Elizabeth Routledge 1877, finished with a green-painted rim and an orange-yellow foot. Both items are characteristic of mid-to-late 19th-century British commemorative ceramics, often produced in the Staffordshire region. No factory marks are visible on the bodies.
