Lot 322:
A Group of Miniature Wood-Cased Pencils and a Tapered Writing Accessory Holder
Description
This lot comprises a collection of miniature wood-cased pencils and a single tapered holder. The pencils are constructed with painted or lacquered barrels in red, blue, and natural wood finishes. Several examples feature metal ferrules or caps at the terminals. These instruments are of the type historically used for dance cards, chatelaines, or small notebooks. The accompanying tapered holder is formed from a dark-toned material, likely stained wood or an early synthetic resin, and features a metal ferrule at the tip. The terminal of the holder is decorated with an attached fabric tassel. No maker marks, signatures, or factory stamps are identifiable on any of the pieces.
